Installing new style of drawer slides in old oak cabinets. How to align?

I have ancient oak cabinets in my workshop (picked up from a public school closure 20yrs ago). As work benches, they are sturdy as heck. However, the drawer slides suck (broken rollers, bent tracks, etc) and they have now all been overloaded to the point it's a problem. I bought a set of drawer slides at the local hardware store (rated to 100lb) as a trial. Naturally none of the mounting holes line up. I'm looking at trying to measure where to place the holes in the cabinet and on the drawers... And it seems like a recipe for binding misaligned drawers. Any tips for getting these straight? Is there a good source of beefier slides? 100lbs is plenty for most of the drawers, but might be worth going bigger? submitted by /u/Whack-a-Moole [link] [comments]
