The Lego Group and The Pokémon Company are teaming up for Lego Pokémon sets coming in 2026, according to a leaked video that revealed the collaboration on Tuesday. A brief teaser for the partnership points to, at the very least, a Lego set based on Pikachu — but if the Lego Pokémon collab is anything like the toy maker’s deal with Nintendo, expect multiple sets for years to come.
The Pokémon brand already has a series of buildable toy sets with Mattel’s Mega Bloks and Mega Construx lines, but it appears that Lego’s taking over that business starting next year. Mattel has been making Mega Pokémon sets for more than two decades now. (Mattel announced in 2022 that it had renewed its license with The Pokémon Company to make Mega building sets “for years to come.”)
But The Lego Group has ramped up its licensed gaming business in recent years, releasing sets based on Nintendo properties like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Animal Crossing. Lego has also released its take on the Nintendo Entertainment System, and plans to release a Lego Game Boy set later this year. Next month, Lego and Nintendo fans can expect a hefty 1972-piece Mario Kart Lego set.
Lego has also flirted with other gaming brands, like Sonic the Hedgehog, Horizon, and Overwatch in recent years. But Pokémon might be its biggest get yet.
Polygon has reached out to Lego Group and The Pokémon Company for details and will update when the companies respond.
