Lightweight smart glasses with lyric scrolling - no AR, just a tiny screen for performers. Why doesn’t this exist yet?

I’m a musician and songwriter, and I’ve been dreaming of a super simple pair of smart glasses designed just for lyrics and basic scrolling messages. Imagine: lightweight glasses (think Ray-Ban or Warby Parker style) with a small LCD screen embedded- something like a mini iPhone screen that only I can see. It doesn’t need to be AR, holographic, or 3D. I don’t need notifications or AI assistants. I just want to see the words I’m singing, scrolling either by voice, subtle head movement, or ideally even basic eye-tracking. This would be a game-changer for singers, speakers, and performers. Just clean, readable lyrics - no clutter, no bulk, no obvious tech. The dream is that from the outside, it just looks like cool glasses, but inside I’m seeing my setlist scroll in real time. Bonus if it could also show simple text alerts or rehearsal notes. I haven’t found anything quite like this — current smart glasses are too heavy, focused on cameras or mixed reality. Has anyone here seen something close to this? Would love to collaborate or inspire someone to build a prototype. submitted by /u/paintthecity [link] [comments]
