Los Ratones has won the EMEA Masters Winter 2025, drawing in 484,533 peak viewers during the Grand Finals against Ici Japon Corp. Esports.
According to esports data platform Esports Charts, the League of Legends (LoL) tournament has become the most-watched iteration of EMEA Masters in its history.
Previously, JD Excel versus Karmine Corp (KC) during European Masters Spring 2021 held the record with 377,531 peak viewers. Despite EMEA Masters’ much shorter air time of just under 32 hours (compared to 85 hours), this year’s event recorded nearly 100,000 more peak viewers as well as 5.7m watch hours.
The Winter 2025 event is part of one of the League of Legends” largest tier 2 circuits within the ecosystem. From March 17th-23rd, 16 teams, including the likes of KC Blue and Los Heretics, competed for a €40,000 (~£33,500) prize pool.
Los Ratones, which was established by LoL personality and streamer Marc Robert ‘Caedrel’ Lamont, showed dominant performances throughout the competition. The squad went on to only lose one series against KC Blue in the Group Stage.
Viewership Impact of Los Ratones
Since its creation in November last year, Los Ratones has been making waves within the League of Legends scene, winning all three tournaments the team has attended. Fuelled by Caedrel’s popularity and his unique content approach, the team has also built an impressive fanbase.
NLC Winter 2025 is among the most popular LoL events of the year so far, recording 360,545 peak viewers during the Grand Final between Los Ratones and NORD Esports. With 185,206 peak viewers, Caedrel’s co-stream has contributed significantly to the competition’s viewership success.
A similar trend can be observed with EMEA Masters. During the Grand Final, 287,937 fans tuned into Caedrel’s co-stream. His team was the most-watched by far, garnering 4.3m watch hours. Meanwhile, Ici Japon Corp. and Karmine Corp Blue placed second and third place in terms of audience popularity, recording 1.7m and 1.3m watch hours, respectively.
Moreover, four matches among the event’s most popular series featured Los Ratones.
