How to make covers for horrible bright exterior LED lights.

The electricians have just fitted the most disgusting bright LED lights, I think they are just the cheapest option from screwfix. They contain multiple led boards so cannot just change to a nice bulb. The info says they can notbe fitted with a dimmer and I think are just set at 4000k with no option to adjust, seems like they could be brighter. THere's 6 of them and they give me a headache. Could a cover be made to stick over them? THey are so bright it's giving me a headache with the curtains closed, I hate them. Perhaps a metal mesh cut into a ring might diffuse them, not sure how hot they get, it's 5am now and the first night they've been installed. Was really enjoying seeing the stars and sleeping in darkness before these prison yard style security lights were installed. Talking to the landlord is not a solution as they are very old, alcoholic and use workmen who just go for the cheapest options and charge the maximum amount. I wanted to install decent lights, but it's not my property, so had to go through the landlord etc. Not bothered about asking permission for whatever I can stick over them, it would just complicate things submitted by /u/DonkeyWorker [link] [comments]
