M80 has announced the release of its Rainbow Six Siege coach Matheus ‘Budega’ Figueiredo and its Team Manager Igor ‘Vivas’ Vivas following the conclusion of the 2025 Six Invitational.

The news follows Budega receiving a two-year suspension from all of BLAST‘s R6 tournament circuit after an altercation between the former coach and DarkZero Esports.

In addition to Budega, Vivas also received a $10,000 (~£7,946) fine along with a minor misconduct penalty. M80’s ex-Team Manager is eligible to attend future BLAST R6 events.

On February 17th, 2025, the organisation noted: “Today we say goodbye to two of the key pillars of our Rainbow Six Siege program the last two years.

“We owe so much to the work Budega and Vivas put in and want to say thank you and good luck in the future.”

The encounter between Budega, Vivas, and DarkZero Esports took place following the team’s 2-1 defeat during the Group Stage of the Six Invitational 2025.

After losing to DarkZero, the team dropped into the elimination bracket where M80 was defeated 2-0 by Japanese team CAG Osaka.

As a result of the defeats, M80 ended the 2025 Six Invitational with a top 16 placement, taking home $55,000 (~£43,695) in prize money.

M80 is yet to reveal replacements for Budega and Vivas for the 2025 season. The organisation is one of 20 teams that form the R6 Share programme, an initiative designed to generate revenue for esports organisations fielding Rainbow Six rosters.

M80 isn’t the only entity looking to revamp and refresh in 2025. In fact, the Rainbow Six Siege ecosystem looks set to embark on a new era this year.

During the Six Invitational, Ubisoft unveiled Rainbow Six Siege X, the next evolution of the developer and publisher’s tactical shooter. Described as ‘the biggest transformation in the game’s history,’ Siege X will feature updates to graphics, gameplay, and audio.

Ubisoft will reveal more information on Siege X during a showcase event in Atlanta, Georgia on March 13th, 2025
