Marriott Ambassador Your24 Perk: How Valuable Is It?
Marriott’s top tier elite status is Ambassador, as it’s above the Titanium and Platinum tier. On paper, there are few incremental perks of Ambassador over Titanium, and the difference is often better ”soft” treatment, like higher upgrade priority, unofficially.

Marriott’s top tier elite status is Ambassador, as it’s above the Titanium and Platinum tier. On paper, there are few incremental perks of Ambassador over Titanium, and the difference is often better “soft” treatment, like higher upgrade priority, unofficially.
The two official benefits of Ambassador over Titanium are that you receive a dedicated Marriott representative (“Ambassador”) who can help you with any reservations, and you also get access to Your24. In this post, I want to talk about that latter benefit.
Basics of Marriott Ambassador Your24 benefit
Your24 is a perk available exclusively to Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador members, and it’s valid for as long as a member has the status. The idea of Your24 is that it allows an eligible member to request a specific check-in time for upcoming stays, allowing you to then stay in the room for 24 hours.
This means you could check-in at 1AM and check-out at 1AM, check-in at 8PM and check-out at 8PM, etc. Well, at least that’s how it works in theory. As you’d expect, there are some terms to be aware of:
- The request for Your24 has to be made either through a member’s dedicated Ambassador, or through the Ambassador service hotline
- The request must be made prior to 3PM local time at the property, two days before arrival
- The Your24 benefit is subject to availability, at the hotel’s discretion
- If the check-in time is approved to start between 9AM and 4PM, then members can still use the guaranteed 4PM late check-out at non-resorts (so you could stretch one night to 31 hours)
- If the specific room type reserved isn’t available upon check-in, the property may temporarily provide another room to the member, and then move them once available
- This benefit isn’t available at Marriott Vacation Club, Marriott Grand Residence Club, Sheraton Vacation Club, Westin Vacation Club, Design Hotels, StudioRes, and MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy properties, and at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach, Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas, and The Phoenician Residences, a Luxury Collection Residence Club, Scottsdale

Does the Your24 benefit actually work?
How useful of a benefit is Your24, assuming you have Ambassador status? I’ll share my own experience, and then I’m curious to hear from OMAAT readers.
Fundamentally, the issue with Your24 is that it’s entirely at the discretion of the hotel, subject to availability. So Ambassador service will make the request with the hotel on your behalf, but that’s no guarantee that the hotel will honor it.
As we all know, many individual Marriott properties aren’t great about honoring elite perks, and they have a lot of discretion regarding the extent to which they have to honor this benefit.
My general expectation with Your24 is that it won’t be honored. It’s not something you can count on a hotel to honor, and in many cases, you may get a response from Ambassador service, indicating that the request will be subject to availability.
Understandably, honoring this can be sort of challenging for hotels, since in many cases, a hotel would have to block a room for a second night to make that happen, and a hotel would only do that if it were 100% sure it’s not going to be full (and even then, many hotels don’t want to take the risk).
I just earned Marriott Ambassador status again, and I had the status for several years pre-pandemic. Pre-pandemic, my Your24 requests were denied more often than they were honored. I think the one time I got it honored was in Abu Dhabi, though in the Middle East, some hotels run very low occupancy.
So I do have a positive recent experience to share, at least, as it’s the first request I’ve made as an Ambassador this year. I have an upcoming overnight stay near Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), and I booked a Marriott. So I reached out to Ambassador service by phone to request a Your24 stay, for a 7AM check-in and 7AM check-out.
The Ambassador service then reached out to the hotel, and said they’d email me back with the response. An hour later, I received the following message:
I reached out to my colleagues at [hotel] to request a 7:00 AM check-in time for your upcoming stay. My colleagues at [hotel] have confirmed that they will have your room ready when you arrive at 7:00 AM and they have noted a 7:00 AM departure time. If there is anything else we can help you with, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I hope you enjoy your time in Paris.
That was a pleasant surprise. It’s always nice to know that your room will be ready after landing off a long haul flight. I assume the hotel projects having a lot of empty rooms! Now, I suspect the hotel would’ve also granted me an early check-in if I just showed up, but it’s nice to have that assurance, since no one wants to wait seven hours (until check-in time) for their room to be ready.
Bottom line
Marriott Ambassador members receive the Your24 perk, whereby they can have a flexible stay, checking in at any hour, and checking out 24 hours later (or even longer than that, if checking in at 9AM or later). The catch with this benefit is that it’s at the discretion of the hotel. As any Marriott loyalist can attest to, not all hotels go above and beyond to honor benefits, and this is no exception.
I’ve had a recent positive experience with requesting this. I’ll be staying at an airport hotel and an arriving early, and the hotel honored this benefit with a 7AM check-in.
If you’re a Marriott Ambassador member, what has your experience been with Your24?
