More Call of Duty games are coming to Xbox Game Pass with a fan favorite dropping in May
When Microsoft completed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, every Call of Duty fan wondered when the games would hit Xbox Game Pass. Black Ops 6 and Modern Warfare 3 arrived first, and now Modern Warfare 2 (2022) is joining the lineup, paving the way for more titles to follow. By May 1, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will arrive for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass users, bringing back the elite squad of Task Force 141. The man, the myth, the legend, Simon "Ghost" Riley, makes his mark in this entry, joined by beloved characters like Captain Price, John "Soap" MacTavish, and Sergeant "Gaz" Garrick. This was the Call of Duty that pulled me back in, with many praising its high-octane campaign and refined gameplay over the original. Image via Xbox Modern Warfare 2, paired with the launch of Warzone 2.0, also shook things up with the introduction of DMZ, a bold, high-stakes extraction mode set in an open world. Blending intense PvPvE action with gripping objectives, DMZ delivered one of the most unique and adrenaline-charged experiences the series has ever seen. With MW2 now part of the Xbox Game Pass lineup, more Call of Duty classics are expected to follow. World at War and Infinite Warfare are likely on the way, as XboxEra first discovered after noticing the "Included with Game Pass" label on these particular titles. World at War is famous for introducing the legendary Zombies mode, while Infinite Warfare divided fans—some didn't take to it, while others deemed it an underrated gem. I, for one, am hoping to see Black Ops 2 eventually added, just so I could experience the famous Zombies' Origins map in this new era of Call of Duty. There are certainly a lot more CoD games for the Xbox Game Pass to tackle, including Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty 2, and the original Black Ops. It'd be awesome to see more timeless CoD titles return on Xbox Game Pass, letting us dive back into the nostalgia-fueled chaos that made the franchise unforgettable.
