Pokémon Go has another set of monthly paid research, “Power Up Ticket: March,” which you need to buy a $5 ticket for. The research gives a plethora of rewards, but is it worth buying?
Below we explain if the “Power Up Ticket” is worth buying in Pokémon Go and we list the steps to the “Power Up Ticket: March” Timed Research.
Is the ‘Power Up Ticket’ worth buying?
In the interest of financial efficiency, we’re going to use the prices set on the Pokémon Go webstore for this analysis, as that’s the cheapest place to nab coin bundles and all that.
For coin value alone, yes, the pass is worth it, so long as you complete the research by the end of the month and get all the rewards.
The pass is $5; for $5, you can buy a bundle of 600 PokéCoins. For completing the March Timed Research, you get the following:
- 8 Premium Battle Passes
- 2 Max Particle Passes
- 1 Lucky Egg
- 1 Star Piece
- 2 Fast TMs
- 2 Charged TMs
- 50,000 XP
- 50,000 Stardust
All this stuff is valued at way more than 600 coins. Max Particle Packs are 150 coins each (or 425 for three), Premium Battle Passes are 100 coins each (or 250 for three), so these items alone make it worth it, especially if you’re somebody who does lots of Max Battles and raids.
You’ll also get more bonuses, which are just additional perks on top of the above value:
- An additional Candy XL rewarded for completed raids and Max Battles (if you’re level 31+)
- 3x XP for your first catch of the day
- 3x XP for your first spin of the day
- Gift opening limit up to 50 per day (from 30)
- Get up to 150 gifts per day from spinning PokéStops/gyms (up from 100)
- Gift inventory limit up to 40 (from 20)
So if the above is also enticing to you, that adds value to the ticket, too.
You can also opt to buy a bundle of the tickets for the next three months via the webstore for $15 — and you’ll get a bonus of 100 PokéCoins. However, we don’t know what the April and May research will reward. If it’s anything close to the above, it’ll still be worthwhile, but we can’t confirm this as of writing. This deal will only be available until Tuesday, March 11, at 10:59 p.m. EDT.
