Pool Enclosure Restoration Screw Material & Sizing
I was looking to fix up and restore my pool cage. Currently, there are carbon steel screws. which are corroding. My question is what type of screws should I replace them with? There seems to be pros and cons between replacing them with carbon steel vs 304 or 410 stainless steel in terms of strength, corrosion, and reaction between the screws in the aluminum. Which material would be best? (I’m not sold on the Nylo-tec screws) Also, should I upsize the fasteners? Currently, most screws are #10. I ask because upon replacing a few screws, they go in well enough, but don’t seem to be as snug as they were originally. Looking for ideas. submitted by /u/DreamFederal9086 [link] [comments]
