Rachel Brosnahan Rocks Sheer Skirt After Carrie Bradshaw-Like Cinemacon Dress
The actor attended The Amateur premiere donning a sheer and leather look, a day after wearing the iconic Dior newspaper dress.

Rachel Brosnahan’s latest press tour looks prove she’s got range—and a keen eye for fashion history.
The actor arrived at the world premiere of The Amateur on Wednesday in an all-black ensemble that was anything but plain. Styled by Alexandra Mandelkorn, she wore a floor-sweeping sheer black skirt and black heels subtly peeking out from underneath, all by Saint Laurent. Over it, she layered a fully buttoned black lambskin jacket, adding a structured edge to the ethereal silhouette. The look was an optimal execution of method dressing to complement the dark, melancholic themes of her upcoming thriller-action film, set to premiere on April 11. Brosnahan’s noir-inspired premiere look came just a day after she stepped out in an outfit that fashion enthusiasts would find instantly familiar.
While promoting her other major film release, Superman, at CinemaCon, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star turned to a dress ingrained in pop culture history. She wore a vintage gray newspaper-print minidress by John Galliano, a striking piece that bore an undeniable resemblance to the Christian Dior newspaper dress made famous by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. Brosnahan’s take was sleeker and more structured—a black micro minidress with a sweetheart neckline, thick straps, and a skintight silhouette. The text on her dress even included a self-referential nod from the designer: "'Go-Go' with Galliano."
Once again styled by Mandelkorn, Brosnahan made the look her own with black leather knee-high boots instead of Bradshaw’s strappy stilettos. She finished it off with chunky silver jewelry—hoop earrings, a chain bracelet, and stacked rings—while her hair, styled in classic Hollywood waves with side-swept bangs, added a touch of old-school glamour to the nostalgic ensemble.
From dark and moody to playful and referential, Brosnahan’s fashion choices are proving to be as compelling as the films she’s promoting.
