Rainbow Six Siege X introduces Element 5 for tier-two esports scene

Ubisoft has unveiled details surrounding Element 5, the latest version of the North American tier-two esports scene for Rainbow Six Siege in light of Siege X’s introduction.

This summer, Element 5 brings new formats, eligibility rules, and schedules for the tier-two ecosystem. Here is everything fans need to know about Rainbow Six Siege X’s Element 5 esports event.

According to the announcement made on X, Ubisoft is introducing some key changes for players looking to enter the tournament.

All players must now reside in North America (NA) to compete. Moreover, they must be 18 and over, need to enter with a ‘clean player record’ with no outstanding bans, and players cannot be signed to a ‘T1 NAL roster as an active player’.

The qualifiers for Element 5 will be free to enter, and will feature the same system that has been used since Element 2. It will see up to 128 teams compete in a double elimination bracket across two separate qualifiers, by the end only eight teams will progress.

Qualifier #1 will run from June 20th-22nd, 2025, and qualifier #2 will run from June 27th-29th.

The second phase will be the Swiss Stage, which will see eight qualified teams and eight invited teams compete in a Buchholz Swiss bracket. All promotion and elimination matches will be best-of-three, and all others will be best-of-one. Only the top eight teams will advance to phase three, while the rest are eliminated.

The dates for the Swiss Stage are July 1st, 2nd, 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th, and 15th.

Ubisoft also noted that it will be increasing the number of official broadcasts to better cover the event.

The developer commented: “We have heard your feedback regarding the lack of official broadcasts for Phase 2. We’re happy to announce that we’re bringing back full coverage for Phase 2 with our premier talent to cover games that matter the most to you.”

Finally, the playoffs will run from July 14th-27th, July 31st, and August 1st-3rd, 2025. It will feature a double elimination bracket, with the lower final and grand final being best-of-five. The playoffs will see the top eight teams fight for the lion’s share of a $15,000 (~£12,000) prize pool.
