Repairing Drywall around shower base

Hello all Handymen/women, I must have had some water getting through the shower door wall bracket getting to some of the drywall here at the base off the shower. I will be bolstering up the silicon caulk on the shower door seal to stop the water. However I would like to see if there are any suggestions for this repair. Is their a drywall mud / patching compound that would be a viable option for patching? I am not sure if putting a very small piece of Green board dry wall would be best? as you can see there is tile starting very close to the area and do not want to get into that. I also have metal corner bead that i would need to cut out to make the corner. would i need to replace that on the small section i cut out? Any suggestions for this repair is greatly appreciated!! submitted by /u/hilylikley [link] [comments]
