Replace water damaged studs
Hey y’all. I found some water damage in my garage. Plugged the leak in this drain pipe and now I’m ready to replace this darkened wood. Question is, can I safely cut out the studs and bottom plate to do so, or would that run the risk of weakening the wall too much? It’s inside my attached garage so I think it’s considered a load bearing wall? How much extra strength is built into houses, generally? Could two studs cause the whole thing to collapse? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/The-BruteSquad [link] [comments]
