Shower Tray Materials - Need Help

Hello, So I’m installing a new shower in my bathroom and need to order a new quadrant shower tray but I’m a bit confused by the materials of them. I understand there are two main materials, Stone-Resin (usually the more expensive ones) and Pearlstone (slightly cheaper and more lightweight). Where I’m getting confused is the surface material for these trays. Some of the Trays are covered in Acrylic Capped ABS and others in Gelcoat. What is the difference between the two? Also - What are Acrylic shower trays? Are they 100% made from Acrylic or are the Acrylic Capped ABS trays classed as Acrylic even though they have stone-resin? This is where I’m confused as I don’t want a cheap Acrylic Tray, I want a stone-resin tray. Also, are Pearlstone Trays good? Thanks for everyones help. submitted by /u/Ugniusk96 [link] [comments]

Hello,

So I’m installing a new shower in my bathroom and need to order a new quadrant shower tray but I’m a bit confused by the materials of them.
