Spare capacitor = cheap insurance
Every time my outdoor AC unit has stopped running, it's been fixed by replacing the capacitor. Today, it died again. It's a simple fix as long as you follow a video to do it safely (e.g.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5dN7yq2Tk0) by turning off the power and discharging the capacitor.
