Star Trek: The Next Generation Just Dropped to $80 on Blu-ray

Star Trek Blu-rays are an odd thing. Over the years, the collections go through a cycle: a new printing comes out, gradually goes out of stock, and at some point gets re-issued in a new edition. So, at any given time, it might be hard to find the Star Trek series or movies you want in stock. Here’s some good news for TNG fans. The latest release of Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Complete Series just dropped to an all-time low price of $80 at Walmart. The MSRP is $160, so that’s a 50% discount.

Get Star Trek: TNG on Sale for $80

The collection is currently sold out at Amazon and priced $40 higher at Target. Best Buy stopped selling physical TV shows and movies a while ago. I don’t know when they’ll stop printing this particular edition (it might have already happened), so if you’ve been looking to add a Star Trek: TNG collection to your collection, this is a good time to do it.

I’m a ‘90s kid, so The Next Generation (which originally aired 1987 - 1994, but was in heavy re-run rotation throughout the decade) will likely never be unseated as my favorite iteration of the franchise. (Granted, DS9 and Strange New Worlds are excellent, and the original series deserves all the accolades it’s ever gotten). Picard is my captain, and always will be. The supporting characters Data, Troi, Worf, Riker, Geordi, Bev and even Wesley Crusher are just all-timers in my book. That’s a heck of a crew. I even love the first two seasons of the show, cheesy and uneven though they may be. It doesn't matter, the series is like a warm nostalgia blanket.

If you want full access to all things Star Trek, you can subscribe to Paramount+, which has plenty of excellent content outside the Trek umbrella, too. But I don’t like to rely on a monthly fee to access my favorite movies and shows, so I buy them either in physical or digital formats. Pick this up if you wouldn’t mind having access to Star Trek: TNG whether or not you’re currently subscribed to Paramount+, and even whether or not your internet is working.
