Streaming platform SOOP has announced that select LCK players can co-stream matches for the 2025 season, starting with the LCK second round.
This is part of a wider collaboration between the Korean streaming platform and League of Legends’ tier one esports competition in the country.
As part of the deal, teams participating in the LCK that have signed exclusive streaming deals with SOOP can co-stream matches across their own channels.
According to an Esports Insider source, teams that have signed exclusive deals with the platform include the likes of Gen.G, T1, DRX, OKSavingsBank BRION and DN Freecs.
With several organisations now eligible for co-streaming, the likes of Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, Jung ‘Chovy’ Ji-hoon, and Park ‘Ruler’ Jae-hyuk can watch the action while interacting with their fans in real-time.
In addition to allowing co-streaming, SOOP’s branding will be integrated throughout LCK broadcasts alongside the launch of SOOP Adventure, an activation in collaboration with South Korean esports organisation T1.
The activation involves the platform’s users collecting ‘e-Soop Stamps’ by completing a range of activities, resulting in eligibility to win prizes. Prizes include tickets to the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) taking place in Vancouver, Canada, from June 27th to July 12th.
On top of the activation, SOOP will also host an on-site activation during the Road to MSI tournament from June 13th to 15th.
Co-Streaming’s Continued Success
League of Legends is one of several esports titles to utilise co-streaming to its advantage. Riot Games, the developer of the MOBA title, first introduced the initiative as part of its VALORANT esports efforts.
Alongside the LCK, the likes of Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont and other content creators have provided insights into matches taking place, offering an alternative viewing experience from the main broadcasts. With Caedrel and other popular personalities boosting viewing figures, co-streaming has become more accepted and prevalent across all of League of Legends’ esports ecosystem.
