Suggestions on easiest fix to level this floor

I had to remove some tile for some work on my basement. At this point i just want to cover up the ugly tile and the area the tile was removed with some cheap laminate flooring to make the space look better. Since the area the tile is taken up is not level with the tile, what can I use to get the floor somewhat level so I can put some cheap laminate over it? I've just spent a fortune on my basement getting it waterproofed and the cost to replace the tile isnt in my budget. I do not want to have to use that floor leveling cement stuff. Is there anything else I could use? Ideas? (Clearly I will not be covering the sump pump hatch) https://preview.redd.it/d9u5mqx8atoe1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3ca35cfb9f7e49a1241a5e44d6fa45fb861d5af5 submitted by /u/HealzFault [link] [comments]
