Sun Day Red Has Signed Its First Ambassador
12 months ago Tiger Woods was coy when asked whether Sun Day Red had plans to sign another professional golfer to wear its clothing on tour. After all, the brand had only just launched and Woods had yet to test any of the new gear in the heat of competition. And while Woods didn't exactly log a ton of competitive hours in 2024, the brand is now confident enough in its offerings to bring a new face into the fold. It feels like this was the plan all along.Karl Vilips, a PGA TOUR rookie and former star of the Stanford University men's golf team where Woods once competed, is the first pro golfer to join SDR. In addition to achieving success on the course at an early age, Vilips is also popular on YouTube where he has close to 40K subscribers. Born in Indonesia and raised in Australia, the 23-year-old has cemented his place in the new wave of golf culture.Woods commented that "At Sun Day Red, we were drawn towards his relentless work ethic, and pioneering spirit that embody what we stand for and look for in our athletes. With his impressive track record and determination, I have no doubt he will make a significant impact quickly on the PGA TOUR and is one of the game’s future stars."Vilips will play this week at the Mexico Open wearing Sun Day Red pieces head-to-toe like the Dynam Pants, the Heritage, Refined and TW Performance Polos and the recently released Pioneer Cypress shoe model. "Tiger Woods was my idol growing up," said the rookie. "I couldn't be more proud to be the brand's first official ambassador."Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
