Sundae School Softens Up for SS25: "Amor Fati"
While Valentine's Day may be in the rearview, Sundae School is still reveling in the "boundless dimensions of love within the Asian American experience." After unveiling a rebellion-rooted Fall/Winter 2024 collection entitled "Resilience" the Dae Lim-led streetwear-meets-"smokewear" label is shifting focus to a softer side with its Spring/Summer 2025 range entitled "Amor Fati."The Latin phrase "Amor Fati" translates to "loving one's fate," a sentiment that shines through the Korean-American brand's expansive new range which continues to push the needle on its existing silhouettes while encouraging wearers to "reflect on love’s enduring presence in their lives," be it through family, friendship, romance or self-discovery.As always, Sundae School looks to its cultural heritage to inform the collection's designs. Hanbok silhouettes are reimagined once again alongside more button-down shirts lined with curved buttoning down the middle. Sweatseats consist of heavyweight yet subtle zip-up hoodies, sweatpants and shorts.Also existing at the core of the collection is Sundae School's signature mochi flower motif. A symbol of resilience, growth and love, the flower appears throughout the collection in the form of intricate embroidery accenting and more bold graphics.
