The Most Recently Retired LEGO Star Wars Set Gets a Surprise Discount Ahead of Prime Day
Amazon has a new deal on the iconic Spider Tank.
There have been a lot of LEGO Star Wars sets over the years, and 2025 alone has seen a ton of new releases for the franchise. With so many different options to choose from, it can be hard to suss out which sets are actually worth adding to your collection at any given time.
That being said, LEGO continuously retires old sets and your window to buy them at or below their typical retail price starts to shrink fast when that plug gets pulled. So the fact that the most recently retired LEGO Star Wars set is actually getting a discount right now is a good enough reason to consider it. The Spider Tank from The Mandalorian has dropped in price ahead of Prime Day and it's likely the lowest price we'll see for this set ever again.
LEGO Star Wars Spider Tank Sale at Amazon
The Spider Tank set was only recently retired in May 2025, so Amazon likely still has quite a bit of stock it's trying to get rid of. The set itself is based off the mech featured in Season 3 of The Manalorian. At only 526 pieces, it isn't the most complicated build out there, but it comes with a lot of cool features for the price. The Spider Tank has flexible legs, functional claws, an opening cockpit, and an elevating hatch with two stud shooters included. You'll also get three minifigures with this set: Bo-Katan (with two blasters), Din Djarin (with a darksaber, blaster, and jetpack), and a tiny Grogu.
Unlike some of the more expensive Star Wars sets out there, the Spider Tank isn't specifically targeted toward an adult audience. The inclusion of a stud blaster makes it a fun Star Wars gift for kids of all ages as it was made to be played with, not just stashed on a shelf. Should You Buy Now or Wait for Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is just around the corner, so it's definitely valid to question if you should buy now or wait for the sale to start in July. Prime Day is generally one of the better times to buy LEGO sets, and while we do expect more discounts to arrive on July 8 when the sale begins, we don't expect to see a better price on the Spider Tank – or for it to stay in stock until then.
The price of this set dropped all the way down to $35 shortly after it was retired, but has since been sitting at full price. Recently retired LEGO sets will sometimes get a discount at retailers outside of the LEGO store months after production comes to an end, but it is a fairly rare phenomenon. The more popular sets will usually just keep going up in price as third-party sellers look to profit off of collector interest. So while this deal may still be around when Prime Day starts next month, it is highly unlikely the price will drop any further.
