The White Lotus, Yellowjackets, Cobra Kai’s finale, and more new TV this week

I know I say this every week, but: Damn, what a Severance. But Apple’s workplace dystopia is not the only new TV this week, and while this week is a bit lighter on new releases, there’s still plenty to cover here. The White Lotus and Yellowjackets alone would be major news! Both back for their third seasons, you can expect big things. The White Lotus is heading to Thailand with a mostly new cast (RIP Tanya McQuoid) and probably some cultural blunders. Yellowjackets is going deeper into the religion formed out in the woods. All that and Cobra Kai is ending with its final run of episodes!

It’s the final showdown. It’s all been leading to this. Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai are being forced to reckon with the decades (40 years!) in their pasts while facing uncertain futures. Say goodbye to Cobra Kai — let’s hope it goes out with a bang kick.

Then again: This is The White Lotus season 3 — we know that not only does not everything that happens on these idyllic vacations stay local or idyllic, we know that often someone ends up dead. Life’s a beach, and these vacations sure are a bitch. Can’t wait to watch.

We’re finally doing it: We’re finally getting to the weird cult cannibalism of Yellowjackets. The girls in the past are going feral, hunting their coach through the woods, questioning their newfound belief system, and prooobably eating more people. The girls in the present are unraveling that someone knows what happened out in those woods. Let’s get into it!
