Three of the most celebrated films of legendary actor and filmmaker Clint Eastwood will be available in 4K format for the first time ever on April 29. Pale Rider, Dirty Harry, and The Outlaw Josey Wales have each been lovingly restored from their original negatives to take full advantage of modern formats, complete with Dolby Atmos audio. The 4K versions of each film include all of the bonus content found in previous releases in addition to some new featurettes discussing the cinematography and cultural impact of Eastwood’s characters.
If you’d like to add these iconic pieces of cinema history to your personal collection, each film will be getting a limited edition Steelbook release, which you can pre-order from Amazon, Target, or Walmart. The Steelbook versions feature unique cover art with a still from the film on the inside cover. Non-Steelbook versions of each film are also available to pre-order and will also be available digitally after April 29.
These aren’t the first Eastwood films to get the 4K treatment. If you’d like to expand your collection with Sergio Leone’s “Dollars” trilogy, A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and The Good, The Bad and the Ugly are each available on 4K Blu-ray from Amazon.
