Twilight Star Taylor Lautner to Play Himself in a Scripted Show About Hunting Werewolves

Twilight star Taylor Lautner will appear in a scripted show where he plays the real-world version of himself who becomes a werewolf hunter while moonlighting as a Hollywood actor.

As reported by Deadline, Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter is an Amazon MGM Studios production starring and executive produced by Lautner. Though its title sounds like a supernatural documentary series where the actor looks into the mythology behind werewolves (queue Bella googling vampires montage), it's actually a purely fictional series where Lautner joins a secret society of werewolf trackers.

"After wrapping the final Twilight film, Taylor Lautner vanished from the spotlight," the synopsis reads. "Fans speculated, tabloids theorized, but the truth is wilder than fiction. Taylor wasn’t just taking a mental health break. He was preparing for his real calling... Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter.

"Playing himself, Taylor is drawn into a secret society of werewolf trackers who need his unique expertise. As he navigates his double life — Hollywood actor by day, supernatural warrior by night — Taylor must wrestle with the ultimate irony: fighting the very creatures that made him famous. Between saving the world, reviving his career, and falling in love, he faces the ultimate question: What happens when your biggest role becomes your greatest enemy?"

This description references his Twilight role, of course, where Lautner played Jacob the werewolf, a love rival to Robert Pattinson's vampire Edward Cullen. The two eventually became besties and Jacob married Edward and Bella's daughter.
