With over a century of shaping style through sportswear both on and off the pitch, Umbro returns to its home city for its Spring/Summer 2025, Manchester-inspired “Northern Quarter” collection.As the recent blokecore movement took contemporary fashion by storm, the brand continued to embrace its decorated legacy, spearheading the revival of archival football wear and cementing itself in the space through sought-after collaborations with the likes of Palace, Supreme, and more.For this season’s collection, Umbro channels its roots with the launch defined by the vibrant spirit of Manchester. Inspired by, and named after, the city’s creative district Northern Quarter, the brand delves into its extensive archive while incorporating a forward-thinking design philosophy to reimagine some of its classic silhouettes through a modern lens. “Umbro has always had Manchester in its DNA,” says Helene Hope, Head of Global Brand Marketing. “This collection is no different, taking inspiration from the spirit of the Northern Quarter to make sportswear classics relevant for streetwear fanatics today.”Highlights from the range include a Zip Off Sleeve Wind Jacket — inspired by the England football team’s iconic track jacket from the 1998 World Cup — featuring new additions such as removable sleeves and a concealed hood that transforms the jacket. As well as collared jerseys and long-sleeve tops, the Washed Drill Top and Washed Diamond Drill Sweat duo takes the collection back to the ‘90s with a nostalgic fabric construction reworked in washed cotton with functional pockets.
