Dune: Awakening is out this week on Windows PC, following a delay from its initially planned May 20 release date. The survival game purports to inject fresh spice both into the survival genre and into its source material, with a narrative set in an alternate version of Frank Herbert’s Dune timeline — one where Paul Atreides was never born.

Here’s when Dune: Awakening releases in your time zone, both in early access and in wide release, plus some details about what to expect.

How to play Dune: Awakening early access

You can play Dune: Awakening in early access if you pre-order the deluxe or ultimate editions of the game, which cost $70 and $90, respectively.

Pre-ordering any edition of the game gives you the Muad’Dib Terrarium and an orange-hued color swatch for all cosmetics. Both premium editions of the game give access to the season pass (which will contain four DLCs) and the Sardaukar Bator Armor. The ultimate edition also comes with the following:

Digital artbook
Digital OST
Cosmetics based on the 2021 Dune film
A blue color swatch for your ornithopter
An orange color swatch for your sandbike

As of this writing, Dune: Awakening will only be playable on Windows PC. (Versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are in the works, according to a February 2025 trailer, but developer Funcom has not announced a release date yet.)
