What to expect in the Path of Exile 2 0.2.0 patch
The Path of Exile 2 “Dawn of the Hunt” update is introducing a lot of new content for early access players. The major content updates include the Huntress class, new Ascendancy classes, over 100 new Support Gems and Unique items, new encounters, and a ton of new endgame content.
Huntress class
The Huntress class utilizes a spear and a buckler, allowing them to blend range and melee combat into one. With the introduction of a new class, she’ll need some new skills. There will be over 20 new Huntress skills that allow her to harness energy from the wild, tame beasts, and weave in and out of combat.
Huntress will launch with two Ascendancy classes:
- The Ritualist — Focuses on the dark side of Azmeri traditions with an emphasis on sacrifice rituals.
- The Amazon — A master of Azmeri fighting techniques.
New Ascendancy classes
There are three new Ascendancy classes in “Dawn of the Hunt”:
- The Smith of Kitava (Warrior) — Capable of forging their own weapons.
- The Tactician (Mercenary) — Specializes in supporting his allies.
- The Lich (Witch) — Master of chaos and curses.
Endgame content
One of the main draws of Path of Exile is the endgame content. Testing out the true strength of your build by wiping out an entire map is a dream for all players, but it has become much harder to do in Path of Exile 2. Developer Grinding Gear Games is rebalancing the endgame by reducing the number of towers, but making them more powerful instead.
“Dawn of the Hunt” is also introducing seven new endgame maps and a new mechanic — cleanse the corruption. Corruption will spread throughout the map and form into large zones with a Corrupted Nexus at the center. Inside, you’ll have to deal with three new bosses, which are amalgamations of Corruption itself. Once defeated, you’ll cleanse the area to find new monsters, bosses, and rewards.
