Adding a standalone chuck on a drill press

So i have a drill stand press that i can clamp the neck of a handheld drill and it works great , but the drill i used that had a clampable neck to fit through the hole, broke down, so i can't use the press either. I thought of adding a bearing inside the neck hole of the press and fixing a hex adapter with a chuck on one end, so as to use my other handheld drills with the press (those dont have a neck to fit in the press). I've seen something like that on other presses. Do you have any advice on what to buy to do such a modification? How would i fix the hexagonal shaft for the chuck permanently on the bearing? Do bearings have fixed sizes? submitted by /u/sendnothin [link] [comments]
