Air Jordan 1 Retros Covered in 115,000 Swarovski Crystals Are Here
On the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan 1 Low, Nike and Swarovski collaborated on a glitzy, thousand-dollar reimagining of the shoe.

Air Jordan is releasing its most blinged out sneakers yet.
The footwear company partnered with Swarovski to launch a crystal-studded Women’s Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG in the “Shadow” colorway. The shoe is fully enveloped in crystals, with over 115,000 of them, to be exact, encrusting the shoe. To create these kicks, Swarovski employed its “fabric caviar” technique, mixing differently sized black and clear gems to give the sneaker its signature brilliant surface.
The bejeweled sneaker was only available at select stores and Swarovski's online presale over the past weekend. But at 9 a.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, all sneakerheads can purchase the one-of-a-kind shoe for $1,000 online. The drop is part of the New Gems collection, which also includes a crystal-covered top and hoodie. No other collection items have been announced for now.
This is not the first time the two brands have worked together. (There's a Swarovski-covered Converse silhouette on the market right now, too.) Last December, the two companies released a crystal-studded Nike Air Max Plus. While last year’s release only featured crystals in the details, this year’s Air Jordan 1 Low OG is much more maximal in its bling.
The jewelry company is no stranger to collaborating with other fashion brands. Just weeks ago, it worked with Crocs to debut a twinkling platform clog. Swarovski has even made skateboards with Golden Goose. Other Swarovski collaborators alums include Skims, Stuart Weitzman, and more.
Some of Nike’s most experimental shoe designs have been produced through its collaborations with other fashion labels. This time, the brand has opted to elevate a classic in the midst of the Air Jordan's 40-year anniversary. As of now, Nike and Swarovski have not announced plans to offer a men's version of the crystal-covered Jordans.
