Alola finally comes to Pokémon TCG Pocket with the Celestial Guardians expansion

The Alola starters are finally coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket. And that’s not all: In addition to Rowlet, Litten, and Popplion, the newest Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion brings additional Alolan Pokémon, including the Legendary Pokémon, Solgaleo and Lunala.

The new Celestial Guardians expansion includes over 200 cards, focused on the tropical region in the Pokémon Sun and Moon games. This will include Alolan variants of Kanto Pokémon, like the sick surfing Raichu, the ghostly Marowak, and (my personal favorite) Goth Meowth, who isn’t really Goth so much as it is a nice shade of purple. There are also cards featuring Alolan trainers, like Mallow, Lana, and Acerola — and a brand new immersive support card featuring Lillie.

The Celestial Guardians pack will release on April 29 at 11:00 p.m. PDT. There will also be a new special round of missions and solo battles kick off on that day to celebrate the half-year anniversary of Pokémon TCG Pocket. There will also be a chance to earn new promo packs via solo battles — including a fancy Rayquaza ex card. More details are available on the Pokémon website.
