ALTO Updates the ART 01 Watch in Two Monochrome Editions
Last spring, independent watch brand ALTO made its debut with its inaugural ART 01 timepiece. As the brand welcomes Raphaël Abeillon as its new creative director, two new monochrome iterations of the ART 01 have been unveiled.Aptly named the Monochrome Editions, the new variants are the results of Abeillon’s fresh input of the ART 01. Based on a complementary duochrome palette, the new watches are available in Black and Titanium Gray — both featuring stealthier, tonal appearances while keeping the model’s signature shape and louvred dial.“Black represents the absence of visible light, yet for ALTO, it is a luminous void,” the brand explains in an official statement. Dressed in its namesake hue, the ART 01 MONOCHROME BLACK features a titanium case with a satin-like DLC finish. Meanwhile, the ART 01 MONOCHROME GRAY edition arrives in a microblasted titanium case, evoking an appeal that strikes the perfect balance between light and dark.Just like the inaugural ART 01, the new iterations are equipped with the striking and artistic A01 Manufacture movement. Proudly exhibited through the caseback, the seconds hand powers the watch through a counter-clockwise winding movement.Both MONCHROME Edition watches are paired with FKM straps in a matching color for a seamless look.
