Apple TV+ has dropped the official trailer for its new sci-fi series Murderbot starring and executive produced by Emmy Award winner Alexander Skarsgård. The comedic thriller is a 10-episode series that is based on Martha Wells' bestselling Hugo and Nebula Award-winning book series The Murderbot Diaries.Murderbot follows Skarsgård's character, the robot, which is a "self-hacking security construct who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable clients." The synopsis explains that "Murderbot must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe." Skarsgård stars alongside Noma Dumezweni, David Dastmalchian, Sabrina Wu, Akshay Khanna, Tattiawna Jones and Tamara Podemski.Academy Award nominees Chris and Paul Weitz are the brothers behind the series, writing, directing and producing under their Depth of Field banner.
