Attic Ventilation Help Needed (I Don’t Know If I Have Soffit Vents)
We bought a house in Northern Indiana last winter. The inspection report said baffles should be added for better ventilation. I just went out and bought Durovent Baffles. Before installing, I googled to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. The page I found said bales are only necessary if you have soffit vents. I thought I did, but now I’m wondering if the indentations on the soffit are just to make pieces lock into one another. Current known ventilation: gable vents at north and south end; four static vents. My attic is currently over 135 degrees Fahrenheit, and it’s affecting the temperature of my upstairs. I added foam board to my attic door and fixed the seal on that, which did help a little. Any DIY advice would be appreciated. Thank you! submitted by /u/skrame [link] [comments]
