Augustinus Bader’s New, Highly Concentrated Elixir Is 'Like GPS for Your Skin'
The serum formula uses an advanced version of the brand's proprietary TCF8 complex. It shows in the $550 price, now making this one of Augustinus Bader’s most expensive items.

Augustinus Bader revealed its latest launch on Wednesday is a concentrated serum, which the luxury beauty brands dubbed the Elixir.
The new formula targets visible signs of aging and skin health by aiming to improve the appearance of fine lines, tone, texture, and skin elasticity. Ingredients that help achieve this include an advanced version of Augustinus Bader's proprietary TFC8 complex, niacinamide, and collagen. A 30-milliliter container of the product retails for $550.
"TFC8 is a highly intelligent, science-backed complex I developed that guides key nutrients and powerful ingredients to the cells that need them most," Co-Founder and Professor Augustinus Bader tells L'OFFICIEL over email. "Think of it like GPS for your skin: It helps deliver the right support to trigger your body’s natural processes of repair and renewal. Rather than forcing change, it works with your skin’s own intelligence to create real, lasting improvements."
It took two years and 25 iterations before landing on the final result, according to Bader, which is "the most concentrated formulation ever created by the brand." (It shows in the $550 price, which is hundreds of dollars more expensive that its suncreen or famous Rich Cream.) Some users witness results within days of use, including more firm and radiant skin. Others, based on clinical trial data, saw more noticaeble results in the decrease of visible wrinkles within an eight week period.
The Elixir, which is creamy and viscous, similar to some lighter creams, is best applied like a serum. Use the formula after cleansing (and toning, though optional). Then, apply moisturizer, eye cream, and sunscreen.
"What continues to inspire me is the ability to translate cutting-edge biomedical research into smart, high-performance skincare that truly supports the body’s innate processes. We are continuing to push the boundaries of delivery systems and cellular communication to unlock even greater possibilities," the professor continued. The Elixir has an "ability to work in tandem with the skin’s own innate intelligence. It doesn’t override the skin’s natural functions; instead, it enhances them by being attune to what the skin needs and responding accordingly."
It's been a busy year of product launches for the brand, which revealed sheet masks and a hair brush in February, in addition to sunscreen in March.
