Backbone has announced Backbone Pro, a completely reengineered – if familiar looking – update to its popular Backbone One controller.The Portland-based brand believes "the way people play games has completely shifted" and its latest product is its answer to this: Backbone Pro becomes the company's first dual-connectivity controller, allowing users to play wirelessly (Wireless Mode) over Bluetooth, or via "zero latency" USB-C (Handheld Mode).From phones to cloud streaming TVs and even VR headsets, Backbone is targeting its new controller at players who move fluidly between different gaming devices and has added a new feature to its app called FlowState Technology that allows users to seamlessly jump between paired devices. The brand says its newly updated ap"transforms your phone into a universal hub for gaming", describing it as the "single place" you'll need and claiming support for multiple platforms including Apple Arcade and Netflix and Xbox Cloud Gaming.In building Backbone Pro, the brand says it had to "rethink everything" from "industrial design to firmware", cycling through over 9,000 different part iterations to get it right.
