Basement Finish - Fiberglass batts over foam board
New DIY'er here so go easy on me haha. Finishing a basement in a new construction and went with 1" foam board on concrete walls. Wanting to increase r value and add some unfaced r-13 fiberglass batts. Is it ok just to add the batts on top of the foam board in-between studs and call it a day? Did some digging online and found conflicting info. Also, from what I understand, the foam board acts as a vapor barrier (also have moisture protection on outside of foundation since its a new build) so there is no need to add the plastic vapor barrier. Is this correct? I live in zone 6 if that helps at all. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/AtBestWI [link] [comments]
