Carpet and Drywall Corner Replacement
For context, I am NOT the landlord. I am the annoyed tenant who said 'f*ck it' and doesn't care about getting my measly $400 deposit back. Picture A : Cat p*ss/water damage from 'previous resident' and 'a/c leak'. Used everything from vinegar, enzyme killer, even a professional cleaner came by. Smell wouldn't leave and blacklight still showed p*ss. Yanked up the carpet to find stain and release hell-levels of pee smell. Picture B/C : Severely eroded wood for stapling carpet, everything smelt like cat p*ss. Unfortunately, so did the heater and landlord wont replace it. Turned off power and saturate in enzyme cleaner, then cooked it on. Picture D/E : Neighbor helped me yank the drywall away to find the washer and laundry room sink drains on the other side of my wall... right where the worst of the smell/stain was happening. Hmm.. Sprayed the f*ck out of the insulation with enzyme killer for 2 days then ozoned the place to high hell for 8 hours. Picture F : Could not find an exact match of the carpet ANYWHERE. Local stores said they hadn't had that carpet in 3 years (despite the carpet being replaced 7 months ago due to flooding) but had the same color pattern 1/4" shorter. Got a 1' x 10' sheet, cut it into slabs, did my best to blend with carpet. Realized in photo the color was off, old carpet is orange tinted due to previous tenant smoking nonstop (see profile for the roof clean I had to do). Picture G : Stained with coffee, might add spray-tan. Still need to repaint wall and add some trim, but had surgery. I think I'd make a great landlord /j submitted by /u/allyourpeets [link] [comments]
