Confused by illogical prices of 12 gauge flexible 3 wire options. (Not including low voltage 12/24v options).
I'm installing a 220v split AC. The power input calls for a 3 wire 220v input. I have about 30 ft from breaker box to AC shutoff panel. Conduit is 3/4" PVC. The path is not straight, has about 7 90⁰ elbows. All options I've seen for high voltage 3 wire 50 ft rolls are above $60. However 12guage 3 wire extension cords are only about $30. Single 12 ga wires are even more expensive, since i would buy 3 different colors at 73c/ft. Extension cords have more components than bare roll of 12ga 3wire, and if I chop off the ends I have a 12 ga 3wire 50 ft cable. Being that both have 12 gauge stranded wires, I don't understand the price difference, specially the bare roll being twice as expensive as the extension cord.
