Cove joint solutions
1950s house with a cove joint going around the perimeter of the basement leading into a jackhammered out "sump pit", looking to seal top of sump pit and possibly stick some closed cell backer rod in cove joint, any advice on if this is a good idea or not is appreciated, we have a bit of a humidity problem down there (will go into the uppers 60s if we turn off the dehumidifier) and a higher radon level then we really want (3-7pci/l) looking to hopefully reduce both, over the past year there's been no trace of any water coming in anywhere and never heard the sump pump kick on. Again any advice on if the backer rod is a good idea or if there's any other ideas. submitted by /u/nbfan77 [link] [comments]
