Curved wood lamp?
I'm thinking of building a curved floor lamp made out of wood but not sure how feasible that is. Thinking about 1"/2.5cm thickness or less, about 2m / 6ft in length that would go over a corner sofa. It would carry only a bulb and possibly a very light shade. From my research, only really thin strips of wood can be bent and glued, so less than 3mm / 1/8". The other option is cutting and joining thicker pieces to match the curve then do some post-processing. However, I have some garden stakes that are about 1" thick or more and they do get bent with time, so perhaps the process can be applied to some type of wood like cherry? Another option perhaps would be to buy edge trimming pieces and glue them to the required thickness but no idea how that would look and if it would work. Any other ideas? submitted by /u/testing_testing_321 [link] [comments]
