Cutting kitchen worktop in situ
Hi folks. TLDR: we want to cut a kitchen worktop to fit a free standing cooker, but I don't want to have to remove the worktop. Is there a way to do this, or am I better off sucking it up and removing the top? The story: I'm planning to remodel our kitchen slightly. Its currently set up with a chest high oven on one side, under cabinet fridge opposite and a worktop hob with draws below. It's a little kitchen so space is a premium. The plan is to remove oven and fridge, install freestanding fridge freezer in the oven hole, move the draws into the fridge slot and then.... We want to put a freestanding cooker into the gap where the draws came from, where the hob is currently. Would mean more oven volume than an under built unit. But the worktop is in place. What's the best way to cut the worktop to allow it to fit? It's got a neat join to the next piece of worktop at one end so I don't really want to remove it. Can we cut the worktop in situ and if so how best to do it? Thanks for any advice! submitted by /u/St_Ginger [link] [comments]
