Designers United on the Mother, Daughter, Holy Spirit Runway to Celebrate Trans Identities
In New York's new One for One venue on Saturday, organizers Bobbi Salvör Menuez and John Mollett kicked off the first part of a three-part fundraiser for the Trans Justice Funding Project called Mother, Daughter, Holy Spirit (MDHS) with a fashion show.Titled "Mother," the runway celebrated trans identities, with a famous cast including Alex Consani, Colin Jones, Richie Shazam, and more wearing looks donated from many of the industry's top voices, styled by Julie Ragolia. Curated looks came from designers like Conner Ives, Diotima, Gogo Graham, Loupreme, Magliano, Marni, Miss Claire Sullivan, Vaquera, Willy Chavarria, Willy Norris, Women's History Museum, and Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen. Additionally, Chloë Sevigny, Hari Nef, Julia Fox, Lena Waithe, Pedro Pascal, Shazam, and Tommy Dorfman donated pieces from their personal wardrobes for the show.Among the standout looks, Connie Flemming sported a customer Zegna suit that was formerly worn by Pedro Pascal at the 2023 Oscars; Shazam strutted in an Empire State Building dress from Women's History Museum's Fall 2024 show; Cynthia Nixon walked the show in an electric pastoral set, and American singer-songwriter Zsela performed "Goodbye Horses" in custom Jean-Pau Gaultier.Several pieces from the show will be sold on the official Mother, Daughter, Holy Spirit website, via the Daughter boutique.
