Michelle Williams Nails Transitional Dressing in a Cropped Chanel Sweater
The actor prepared for her new series, Dying for Sex, on a press run around NYC.

Michelle Williams took on the streets of New York City on Monday afternoon dressed exactly right for the balmy weather. The actor, who is promoting her soon-to-be-released series on FX titled Dying for Sex, rocked a Chanel outfit that perfectly captures how to achieve transitional dressing.
Williams wore a cropped sweater made of cream-colored bouclé with flecks of color flashing throughout its gridded pattern. She paired the short top, which was ideal for the sunny weather, with an ivory crossbody bag and a pair of high-waisted, straight leg jeans (one of 2025's top trending denim silhouettes). In the footwear department, the Fabelmans actor wore heeled mules in oiled leather that also appeared to be by Chanel. Going against the current jewelry trends that call for maximalism, the actor ditched earrings, rings, and bracelets, opting to wear a single gold chain that complemented the metallic embellishments on her crop top.
Earlier in the day, the 44-year-old rocked a black suit, complete with a tailored jacket and trousers, with a white floral brooch pinned to the lapel. For that appearance, she kept her sunglasses the same but swapped out her mules for a platform heel.
It's only right that Williams wore ensembles by the French label for her press tour, as she's proven her loyalty to the house over time, be it when wearing Chanel for the Met Gala or attending the runway shows.
In Dying for Sex, Williams plays a woman who is diagnosed with advanced breast cancer and then ends her decades-long marriage in order to explore her sexuality (and, for the first time, orgasm). The series, which also stars Jenny Slate, hits streaming April 4. The forthcoming TV show, produced by Nikki Boyer, is based on a real story, specifically Molly Kochan's.
