Everything We Know About the Four-Part Beatles Biopic

Word just broke on the cast for the forthcoming Beatles biopic, and it's sent the internet into a frenzy.

Four Hollywood heartthrobs are coming together to star as Paul, George, John, and Ringo in a four-part biopic directed by Sam Mendes showcasing each band member's unique perspective of their run with The Beatles. (Yes, this means each band member is getting a dedicated film.) Paul Mescal is set to play Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson will play John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr. The news was announced on March 31 at Cinemacon in Las Vegas where all four actors were present and took to the stage dressed in all-black and in very Beatles-esque ensembles.

This four-part film series is going to cover never-before-seen content of the lives of some of the most famous figures in rock and pop culture history, as it is the first time McCartney, Starr, and the families of Harrison and Lennon granted full access to their life stories and music rights. Mendes—one of the buzziest names in cinema, who is behind films like American Beauty and Skyfall—is helming the project, which is set to release in theaters April 2028. The Academy Award-winning director will, thus, make it possible to binge the movies from your nearest AMC or local movie theater.

While it may take a few years for Mescal, Dickinson, Keoghan, and Quinn to hit the big screen as the iconic band, the four actors remain at the top of their game in their other respective projects. Mescal and former L'OFFICIEL cover star Quinn featured in the 2024 hit film Gladiator II directed by Ridley Scott. Keoghan, famously known for his tantalizing role in Saltburn, recently starred in Bring Them Down which premiered in February. Dickinson just made waves for his late 2024 performance in Babygirl opposite Nicole Kidman.
