Disney Visa Card overview
Despite its limited earning rates and redemption options, the no-annual-fee Disney® Visa® Card has benefits for Disney fans who regularly visit the parks. The card earns rewards in the form of “Disney Rewards Dollars” and comes with Disney discounts, special financing and travel protections. Still, you may be better off with a more general travel card to have access to better rewards. Card rating*: ⭐⭐
*Card rating is based on the opinion of TPG’s editors and is not influenced by the card issuer.
The Disney Visa Card will likely only appeal to Disney loyalists who visit the parks often or spend a decent amount annually on Disney-related purchases. Unless you are strictly in the market for a no-annual-fee card, the Disney® Premier Visa® Card has more benefits with a still relatively low annual fee.
This card earns 1% in Disney Rewards Dollars on all card purchases. This card might be a great fit if you enjoy the simplicity of a flat-rate card versus one that forces you to track bonus categories. Plus, if you spend enough on Disney purchases, you won’t have any trouble finding ways to redeem your Disney Rewards Dollars.
We recommend a credit score of 670 or higher to have the best chance for approval. This card has no annual fee.

Disney Visa welcome offer
New Disney Visa cardholders can earn a $200 statement credit after spending $500 on purchases in the first three months after account opening.
This offer is not available to current cardholders or anyone who has received a welcome bonus on this card in the past 24 months.

If you’re planning to visit Disney World soon and use this card to pay for your trip, that $200 statement credit could offset a one-night stay at one of Disney’s value resorts like Disney’s Pop Century Resort, a ticket to one of Disney’s After-Hours events or breakfast for a family of four at one of Disney’s best character dining experiences.
Disney Visa benefits
The Disney Visa offers a few nice discounts and theme park perks for Disney fans and allows them to choose from over 12 card designs with favorite characters like Mickey, Princess Tiana and Darth Vader.
Complimentary DashPass membership
Like several other Chase cards, the Disney Visa comes with one year of complimentary DashPass, a membership for DoorDash and Caviar that provides unlimited $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders.
The regular price for this service is $9.99 per month. You must activate by Dec. 31, 2027 to receive this offer.
As this offer is available on other Chase cards, this isn’t necessarily a reason to get the Disney Visa, but it is a nice perk nonetheless.
Shopping, dining and entertainment perks and discounts
Disney Visa cardholders can save 10% off select purchases made with the card at DisneyStore.com and at select merchandise and dining locations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
You’ll also get 20% off select spa treatments and 10% off select merchandise purchases, photo packages and port excursions aboard Disney Cruise Line.

Additionally, the card offers 15% off the non-discounted price of select guided tours at Disneyland and Disney World when you use your card, 10% off select recreation experiences, a 20% discount on tickets to Cirque du Soleil’s “Drawn to Life” at Disney Springs and complimentary photo ops only available to Disney Visa cardholders.
Outside of the parks, cardholders receive discounts on their first year of an annual Marvel Unlimited subscription (20% off) and a special Cardmember VIP package for select Disney on Broadway shows.
Exclusive vacation offers
Disney regularly releases limited-time offers that are only available to Disney Visa cardholders. These can include things like hotel discounts, free dining packages and more.
Vacation financing
Disney Visa cardmembers can get 0% promotional APR financing for 6 months on select Disney vacation packages from the date of purchase when paying with this card (then a variable APR of 18.24%–27.24% applies).
This applies to:
- Disney World
- Disneyland
- Disney Cruise Line
- Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa
- Adventures by Disney
Travel protections
The Disney Visa comes with travel protections, such as baggage delay insurance, purchase protection and extended warranty protection.
Earning rewards on the Disney Visa
With the Disney Visa, you’ll earn 1% back on all purchases. Your rewards will come in the form of Disney Rewards Dollars.
A 1% return rate on a no-annual-fee card isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but there are several other cards with no annual fee that offer a higher rate of return and more flexible redemption options.
When you compare this card to the Disney Premier, which earns 5% back on card purchases made directly at DisneyPlus.com, Hulu.com or ESPNPlus.com; 2% back at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants and most Disney U.S. locations; and 1% back on everything else, you’ll get a higher return on Disney-related purchases for a relatively low annual fee.
If you love the idea of theme park discounts and earning rewards to offset the costs of your Disney vacation but hate keeping up with which card in your wallet has the highest earning rate in certain categories, the Disney Visa could be a good fit for you.

Redeeming rewards on the Disney Visa
The Disney Visa earns Disney Rewards Dollars instead of cash back, making it viable only if you can spend them on Disney purchases. You can redeem Disney Rewards Dollars toward theme park tickets, hotel stays, shopping and dining at U.S. Disney parks, Disney Cruise Line packages, onboard activities and souvenirs, Disney movie tickets at AMC theaters and shopping at DisneyStore.com.
You can view your Disney Rewards Dollars balance online and load it onto a Disney Rewards Redemption Card when you are ready to spend it. Alternatively, you can redeem Disney Rewards Dollars for a statement credit on eligible Disney-related purchases using Chase’s “Pay Yourself Back” feature.
While the Disney Premier allows cardholders to redeem Disney Rewards Dollars for a statement credit toward airline travel — giving at least a bit of flexibility to redeem rewards for non-Disney purchases — there is no such option with the Disney Visa.

Which cards compete with the Disney Visa?
Unless you want the convenience of earning rewards that you can spend at Disney and you visit the parks often enough to take advantage of the discounts and other perks that come with the Disney Visa, there are some alternatives to consider:
- If you want more Disney rewards: For a $49 annual fee, the Disney Premier card earns bonus rewards in the form of Disney Rewards Dollars on card purchases made directly at DisneyPlus.com, Hulu.com or ESPNPlus.com, gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants and most Disney U.S. locations. You’ll also get the same theme park discounts and perks that come with the Disney Visa. To learn more, read our full review of the Disney Premier.
- If you want flexible travel rewards: The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card earns bonus points on travel booked through Chase Travel℠, dining, select streaming services and online grocery store purchases (excluding Target, Walmart and wholesale clubs) and all other travel. This card has better earning rates than the Disney Visa and more flexible redemption options for a $95 annual fee. To learn more, read our full review of the Sapphire Preferred.
- If you want no annual fee and a simple rewards structure: The Citi Double Cash® Card (see rates and fees) offers 2% earnings on all purchases — 1% when you make a purchase and another 1% when you pay it off — making for a straightforward cash back structure. This card is great if you want easy rewards for no annual fee. To learn more, read our full review of the Citi Double Cash.

Bottom line
The Disney Visa is worth considering only if you can use the benefits, discounts and rewards to your advantage and don’t want to pay an annual fee.
If that’s not the case, however, the Disney Premier card is a better choice. If you don’t fall into the Disney superfan camp, consider a general travel card for more valuable and flexible rewards.
