Transfer Amex Points To Qatar Airways With 20% Bonus

Several weeks ago, we saw a bonus introduced when moving points from Amex Membership Rewards to Qatar Airways Privilege Club. This opportunity will be expiring shortly, so I want to post a reminder of this, especially since it’s also an opportunity to earn other “flavors” of Avios at an advantageous rate.

Transfer Amex points to Privilege Club with a bonus

Between February 24 and March 31, 2025, the Amex Membership Rewards program in the United States is offering a 20% bonus on points transfers to Qatar Airways Privilege Club, meaning that the clock is ticking on this offer.

Ordinarily points transfer at a 1:1 ratio (in 1,000 point increments), while through this promotion, you’d get 1,200 Avios for every 1,000 Amex Membership Rewards points transferred.

Is this transfer bonus worth it?

I’d argue that the Qatar Airways Privilege Club program is pretty lucrative nowadays. For one, keep in mind that Qatar Airways uses Avios as its rewards currency, so it’s possible to transfer Avios at a 1:1 ratio between the various programs that earn Avios. That includes Aer Lingus AerClub, British Airways Executive Club, Finnair Plus, and Iberia Plus.

This means that you could use this offer to indirectly convert Amex Membership Rewards points into British Airways Avios with a 20% bonus as well. That’s something that will no doubt interest some.

However, there’s also huge value directly with the Qatar Airways Privilege Club program. Privilege Club has decent award pricing on Qatar Airways flights, and also has access to more business class award availability than partner programs. Privilege Club also has several unique airline partners, ranging from JetBlue, to RwandAir, to Virgin Australia, opening up valuable redemption opportunities.

Bottom line

Through March 31, 2025, we’re seeing a 20% bonus on points transfers from Amex Membership Rewards to Qatar Airways Privilege Club. A 20% bonus is pretty significant, so this is an opportunity to get a good deal converting your points into Avios with Qatar Airways, British Airways, etc.
