How to respec in The First Berserker Khazan

Being able to respec in a Soulslike like The First Berserker Khazan opens up the ability to try new builds or retool one that needs a bit of work. Respecs are also unlimited in the game, so long as you know where to look and how it works. How to repec your character in The First Berserker Khazan Screenshot by Destructoid To respec in The First Berserker Khazan, you need an item called the Primeval Regression Orb, an Epic-rarity item. Once you have one, use it to refund all the Lacrima you spent to reach your current level. All your stats will default back to 10, and depending on your level, when you use the Orb, you might have hundreds of thousands or even millions of Lacrima to spend. Beware: if you die and fail to pick up the Lacrima refunded when you respec, you will lose it. I recommend never using a Primeval Regression Orb in a mission. Use them only in the Crevice next to the Blade Nexus in the main courtyard. That way, you can refund your levels and immediately go back into the level-up screen to spend your Lacrima again. Where to find Primeval Regression Orbs in The First Berserker Khazan Screenshot by Destructoid Primeval Regression Orbs are exceedingly rare in the wild. I've had one drop for me from a random mob, but that was many hours ago in my playthrough. The easier way is to buy them from Digor the Bard, a vendor found in several missions across the game. He carries three of them at a time and charges 10,000 Gold for each. Screenshot by Destructoid Luckily, you can endlessly farm Primeval Regression Orbs by meeting the Bard, buying the Orbs, and then traveling back to the Crevice and reloading the area. His inventory will reset, and you can buy more Orbs. The process repeats as long as you have Gold to spend. You'll find the Bard in five mission areas: Embars Ruins, on a platform above the first room beyond the Forgotten Temple Entrance Blade Nexus. Skoffa Cave, standing by the lake of acid nearest the Bottom of the Cave Blade Nexus. Rephalan Mountains, down a ladder beyond the Hermit's Cave Blade Nexus. Rovelion Imperial Theater, standing near a piano in the level's upper reaches. Capital City Vitalon, nearest the Church Blade Nexus. Of these five locations, my favorite by far is in Embars Ruins. Sure, you need to defeat a few dragonkin enemies to talk to him safely, but they're the weakest foes you'd need to deal with. By the time you'd need to spend a lot of time farming Primeval Regression Orbs, they'll be such minor threats as to be nonexistent. You'll eventually be able to craft Primeval Regression Orbs after earning the Tome of Regression as a reward for completing the Observer enemy Bonus Training Challenge. You'll need to first encounter Observers in the Rephalan Mountains, and the challenge objective is to make any Observer explode and use that explosion to kill five other enemies. With the Tome in hand, head back to the blacksmith in the Crevice, and you can spend two Transmutation Mist, ten Transmutation Shards, and 2,000 Gold to make a single Primeval Regression Orb. How to respec your combat skills in The First Berserker Khazan Screenshot by Destructoid As you use one of the three weapon types playing through The First Berserker Khazan, you'll be able to unlock abilities and buffs via the Skill Tree. Skill points are weapon agnostic, meaning if you earn them by using a Spear, they can also be used with Dual Wield, and so on. All you need to do to respec your Skills is hover over the Skill you want to refund and press your Unlearn bind which is, noted at the bottom of the Skill Tree Screen. If you want to unlearn multiple Skills, you can choose those at the top of a Skill tree and confirm you wish to refund the additional points when prompted. You can also press the Reset All button to refund all the Skill points spent on the current Skill page. From there, you can reallocate all your points to new Skills for your current weapon or one you'd like to swap to. The process is completely free and without restriction. Respec your Skills as much as you like. Of course, using a respec on your character and Skills does not transfer the knowledge and, more importantly, the muscle memory of whatever weapon you used previously. You'd be wise to go back to a lower-level mission or boss fight to learn your new setup and respec again if needed.
