DIY semi-transparent mechanical keyboard keycaps?

I'm building a custom mechanical keyboard, but struggling to find keycaps. Decided to try out a diy approach: buying clear transparent keycaps that are very cheap, and spraying the back with transparent spray paint t allow backlight through. Problem is, transparent paint is really exotic where I live, so I'd have to import it. Before that, I'm looking for examples of such project, but can't seem to find any. Has anyone tried this approach? What are you results? Next step would be resin casting keycaps, which I know does work, but is also vastly more expensive, so I'm wondering if it's doable with transparent spray paint. submitted by /u/X2ytUniverse [link] [comments]
