Everything We Know About Jennie's Solo Album 'Ruby'
Blackpink's Jennie is preparing to step into the solo spotlight with the release of her full-length debut studio album.

Jennie Kim, a member of one of K-pop's biggest groups, Blackpink, is preparing to step into the spotlight with the release of her full-length debut solo studio album, Ruby. The highly anticipated record is set to be released on March 7, and it marks the first project to be distributed by Odd Atelier, a production company founded by the K-pop idol herself.
The journey to make Ruby began in 2024 as Jennie set for sunny Los Angeles to create the 15-track album featuring collaborations with Childish Gambino, Grammy-winning artist Doechii, Dua Lipa, Kali Uchis, Dominic Fike, and FKJ. The album title was inspired by her alter ego, Ruby Jane, whom she created during the time she lived in New Zealand.

Jennie's Ruby Album: Songs and More Information
The teaser trailer for her upcoming album might have been less than a minute, but it made the impact it intended. In the video, Jennie sports fiery red hair as the background music hints at the sound and lyrics in the tracks. The visuals also teased the overall aesthetic Jennie was aiming for with the record. With this debut, fans are excited to see another side of Jennie that highlights her versatility as an artist and expressing herself by responding to the people who love to hate her (Blinks will understand this reference).
The first single the Korean rapper-singer released was "Mantra," and it teased what fans could expect in her debut album, from the empowering lyrics to sonic style via production. Released in October 2024, the song was an instant hit, topping the charts in 47 countries, like the US, Brazil, Mexico, and Singapore. She also made history as the first female K-pop soloist to reach No. 1 on iTunes' Top Songs Chart in the US, and she entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 98 as a solo artist.
Her most recent single, "ExtraL", released on February 21, was a collab with Grammy-winner Doechii and was an empowering message to women. It makes you think of "Run the World (Girls)" by Beyoncé as the track starts with "Do my ladies run this?" It appears that she's exploring themes of love and female empowerment, which is on brand for all the members of Blackpink, in the singles released thus far. In this single and "Love Hangover" featuring Dominic Fike, Jennie is experimenting in different genres and appears to be molding herself to the collaborators' style and vibe while still being true to her artistic style and vision, which elevates the excitement surrounding this album release.
What Merchandise and Bonus Items Will Come With Jennie's New Ruby Album?
It wouldn't be a K-pop album release without the extra goodies that come with the physical and digital album. The it-girl will be releasing two photobooks, a CD digipack, and a Target-exclusive CD digipack. In addition to these items, physical copies will include a Jennie Only Audio version, which is a version of Ruby with vocals only performed by Jennie and no featured artists.
Jennie From Blackpink's Upcoming Live Performances: the Experience
Miss Jennie Kim is staying booked and busy as she's also gearing up for her solo Coachella debut and a Blackpink World Tour in 2025.
